You can choose freely here, as almost all dried fruits and nuts are suitable for fruit bread. We have chosen a classic version and use:

The evening before, soak the dried fruits in 1 liter of water and a splash of rum or rum flavoring and leave overnight. The next day, drain the fruits in a sieve and save the soaking liquid.
Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble the yeast into it, sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar on top, and add 6 tsp of the fruit soaking liquid. Mix with a little flour from the edges of the well, then cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
Now knead in 7 tbsp of fruit liquid, nuts, dried fruits, sugar, and spices. Form the dough into a ball, cover it, and let it rest overnight at room temperature.

To allow it to develop its full aroma, let the fruit bread cool completely, wrap it in aluminum foil, and let it rest for 2 to 3 days!
